The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC was officially organized in the State of New York in October 2009.

 Our official Mission Statement:
The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC, is dedicated to critical thinking about and supporting the application of human rights. Through volunteer service, fundraising, advocacy, publication, and education, The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC is dedicated to the pursuit of a better understanding of human rights and to the pursuit of protecting human rights for all people.

 We are united in the pursuit of social justice.

The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC is devoted to raising funds and awareness for topics of broad social concern while maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere with a peculiar touch of individuality.  It is our goal to provide basic, introductory information on a variety of topics to engage our readers in these matters of social concern and to encourage outside learning and action.  Further, we aim to move into in-depth research and reform efforts as the organization develops.

As a whole, this website is dedicated to Joseph Buscaino, Marilyn Pisciotta Goodis, and Evie Pisciotta Buscaino.

The Goodis Center for Research and Reform, LLC is a combination of Robert Goodis' various personal, political, and intellectual interests.  This includes, but is not limited to, his endeavors in the charitable world - "Robert Goodis Charities,"  "The Robert Goodis Foundation," and the "Mason-Dixon Darfur Alliance."  Some recent charitable efforts include campaigns related to New Orleans and Katrina, Darfur, the environment, breast cancer, and more.

Papers written by Robert for classes and personal projects are available on our blog.  The blog is designed to encourage discussion and independent thinking on various topics related to human rights and politics.  In the future, it will also include excerpts of pieces run in the Journal.

Who is Robert?

Robert Goodis was born and raised in York, Pennsylvania.  He is an alumnus of the Panim el Panim Institute for Leadership and Values in Washington, D.C. (2004).  He graduated York Suburban Senior High School in June, 2006, with honors.  He is a recipient of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency's Certificate of Merit and is a member emeritus of MENSA.  He has been recognized in the 2007-2008 Cambridge Who's Who among Executives and Professionals.

Robert currently studies human rights, sociology, and social policy at Bard College and holds a certificate in human rights and humanitarian law from the Specialized Human Rights Program at the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, Washington College of Law, American University.

For his charitable involvement, Robert has been featured in multiple articles in (2) newspapers in York County, PA, as well as in a newspaper in Germany.  Robert has also interviewed on local-broadcast television in south-central PA and on FM radio.  In high school, Robert was known among his classmates as the most likely candidate to join the Peace Corps, lead a protest, and save the world, and this is a reputation he has continued to uphold.

His Save Darfur yarmulke (kippot) fundraiser has garnered international recognition, and is credited for inspiring the "Obamakas" (Barack Obama campaign yarmulkes) in the 2008 election season. 
Robert is also a distant relative of Clara Barton, humanitarian activist and founder of the American Red Cross.

When he is not a student, Robert spends most of his breaks working long hours as a traffic control flagger for work-zones in Pennsylvania and Maryland.  He is nationally certified by the American Traffic Safety Services Association, and has been trained in first aid, CPR, AED, and manual traffic control.  Robert is in training to become an active member of the Red Hook Fire Company, where he has joined the Fire Police squad to better serve the community around his college.

During the summer of 2009, Robert Goodis is taking a break from traffic flagging for a job-opportunity in law enforcement.  As a seasonal police officer for the Rehoboth Beach Police Department in Delaware, Patrolman Goodis worked to further involve himself in civil and community service efforts and to promote community involvement.
